Massage has become one of the most sought-after treatments over the past few years and the need for a great massage is increasing with the fact that more of our jobs and social activities are desk or computer or computer-based.
When I started my studies in massage therapy in the 90's, clients would normally visit the salon or spa for waxing, facials or for slimming treatments. Massage was one of treatments that was regarded as a luxury or a special treat every once in a blue moon.
With so many places offering massage, how do you know which is the best place to go and how can you tell whether you're likely to have a pleasant massage?
1) Online Reviews
Online reviews are a fantastic way of finding out about the opinions of people about a particular company. Do bear in mind though, sometimes the reviews may be negative about the establishment or one person on staff, meaning you might be left without a wonderful massage from a different member of staff who hasn't been reviewed. There is also the saying that a client who's experienced a negative experience will share their experience with five others, but if they've had great experiences, they might not tell a soul'. So sometimes you can't always be sure if you will get a 'good' massage treatment or not from a customer review.
2.) Qualifications
A reputable massage therapist will possess the following qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or HND Health & Beauty, ITEC, CIBTAC or CIDESCO, there are other bodies that are recognized also, but ensure that they have a qualification instead of a workshop certificate. Anatomy and physiology is a big part of the education as understanding the muscular system, skeletal system and the functions they play can affect the quality of massage. 출장안마
3.) Licence
Businesses within many area's especially London can't operate without a valid massage license. In certain boroughs, even the therapist has to be licenced. The only way a therapist is licensed is if they have the required qualification. Sometimes you can see the premises license displayed on the wall.
4) Medical Questionnaire & Consultation
The massage therapist you choose to work with should ask you to fill in the basic medical questionnaire in order to identify any medical condition which may hinder you from receiving massage. For instance, recent surgeries or injuries or wounds, infections, etc. For certain conditions you can still have a massage but you will need written consent from your Doctor that its okay to continue to have massage.
If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy its advisable not to have massage and a professional therapist would know this if they spot the issue on your form of consultation
Consultation can be a great opportunity to discover what your major concerns are or if they are any areas you'd like your massage therapist work most on. Its also a time to confirm that you've been booked in for the correct type of massage that is appropriate for you, for example you may have been scheduled for a Swedish Massage but you might be looking for a deeper Tissue' massage.
Five) The Massage Therapist you have chosen
Sometimes the size or age of a massage therapist could be a detriment. I'm 5 ft and only six and a half stones but I'm used to massaging bodybuilders and my pressure is very powerful, even though I'm extremely small. Massage therapists build pressure by using a combination of strength as well as their own body weight for an effective, firm massage.
Also i've trained a number of 18 year olds that are just as good as massage therapists with years of experience. It's all about how enthusiastic your therapist is with her job. If she loves massage and is passionate that she is, then you are likely to have a great treatment. 부산출장안마
6.) the massage treatment
It's not uncommon for changing time to be included in your massage time so do ensure you lay down on your bed as quickly as possible to get your hands on time.
Your massage therapist must determine if you are warm enough and comfortable prior to beginning the massage. A lot of spas and salons are equipped with soothing music in the background, which enhances the experience.
It is often easy to discern the difference between a really good massage therapist and one who isn't as skilled. A really good massage therapist is connected with their intuition and be aware of the proper pressure to apply, they will also know which area's most in need of attention the most without the need to follow a rigid routine of massage only.
